I got this cat from my father at the age of 4. She was the family cat. When we first got her, she hated everyone and everything. She hissed, scratched, hid, and didn't want to be touched. My sister was fine with her and took primary car of her. She always stayed small, around 7 pounds. People always mistook her for a kitten, even when she was 18 years old. It took her a few years with us before she came out of her shell and we discovered what a loving, cuddly cat she was. She would sleep beside us at night, beg for attention and to be held during the day. Cuddling with her had become a part of the morning routine. And goodness was she talkative, for no reason much of the time. Sometimes, rarely, there would be an actual reason. Even if you picked her up, she'd be chatting with you.
She love windows and birdwatching and basking in the sun. Occasionally she'd play with the dogs, but mostly she enjoyed watching them. She was a member of our family for 16 years--basically a little sister to me. It looked hopeful that she was going to make it to 20, but things took a turn seemingly overnight and we brought her in to discover she was in complete kidney failure. She was an amazing first pet.
