Fat-Sajak

We snagged this cat from a Pet Smart retail store in 2013.

There's a process we use when considering cats; maybe that's the project manager in us, but it works, as Sadie has become my wife's favorite kitty in a house where three others live. She's everything my wife loves in a cat; FAT, cuddly, very docile, with some odd quirks that we find totally endearing.

Like how she loves watching teevee. Even hockey games! How she loves to shred paper bags and small boxes. No particular reason, it's what she love to do. And how she absolutely loves her wire-bristled brush. (We call her a brush-ho).

When we got her in 2013, she was a "big" cat; roughly about 10 pounds, so not especially big but good-sized for the shelter where she lived. Since, she's crested at 17 pounds, at which time two things happened; she earned the name "Fat Sajak" and I put her on a diet.

I don't think she cares about the name thing, but I know she's not happy with the diet. But the results have been positive; she's dropped a pound!

She's fun to groom as she will contort her body all over just to provide access to the brush. Sometimes it can be pretty hilarious. But the best times with little Fatty-Sajak is when she curls up on my wife's pillow right alongside my wife's head and both my girls are sleeping so soundly!

It's a beautiful thing, and it reminds me of how blessed we are to have kitties as pets!
