I've always grown up around dogs and preferred their company to cats, however as I work 9-5 I know I couldn't give a dog the attention it needs therefore I opted for a cat, it was the best decision I've ever made. I got her at 8 weeks old, she was already litter trained and I had very few problems with her.
I lived in a 1 bedroom 3rd floor flat, so she was kept inside, after a while she started to go a little stir crazy, screaming at the front door, I have since moved to a place where Jessica is free to roam the outside, while she isn't as clingy and affectionate as she used to be she's a much more confident cat.
I wouldn't change her for the world, she is very affectionate, but also very vocal which personally I find adorable however some people may get a little frustrated with!
Cats show a great deal of affection with the right care, whilst they are not as needy as dogs, you soon get accustomed to their adorable personalities, even if this does involve attacking your feet as you sleep, or waking you up in the morning screaming for food.
