We adopted our female domestic longhair from the local humane society earlier this year. She had been brought in as a stray and was pregnant. After she had her kittens she was spayed. We waited 3 long weeks for her after signing her adoption papers, due to the fact that she had a upper respiratory infection she couldn't easily shake. She was definitely worth the wait! We named her Persephone (after the Greek goddess) and call her Nene, for short, which fits her well. This kitty is affectionate, super playful and fun. She gets along well with our other cat, who is a neutered male that we had for a year before we adopted her. She does not like dogs and is very afraid of them. Unfortunately, NeNe is often skittish, but we think that is because she was a stray. She gets along very well with kids and loves to cuddle. NeNe can be a touch mischievous, and tends to spaz out at night for about an hour, but she calms down easily. She also does not meow often, she makes noises with her mouth closed and likes it when I do them back at her. Overall, this kitty has been a wonderful choice and makes a great companion.
