My ex birman cat

Even though I like the look of birman cats, I couldn't keep Patu for more than one month. Maybe because he was a male, or maybe because he was old enough when I received him as a gift-9 months old- and had his habbits already created, he had a very destructive behavior, scratching everithing, breaking things down and using flower pots as litter box. He wasn't old enough to have him sterilized thou. For male cats is better to wait until they reach one year of age before sterilizing them. Patu wasn't violent with me or other people, but he didn't show much of affection either.
I know people that are happy in having a birman cat, so I guess the key to every good owner- pet relation is the age of the pet when aquired. Or, speaking from own experience, I say that rescued animals will always keep a special place for you in their hearts and show this any time they have the chance.
