Owning a cat has more positives than negatives in my opinion. The animal keeps you company, always knows in what kind of mood you are, therefore tries to comfort you the best way it can - by cuddling and purring all around you. Cats are genuinely easier to be taken care of than dogs. All they need is a few toys, a place to sharpen their nails, some food and water and a place for natural needs. In general cats are more quiet than dogs and other types of animals, don't smell unpleasantly and are fun to play with. If you don't have much time for an animal, yet still want to have someone keep you company - a cat is the perfect choice. It doesn't require to be taken out on walks and therefore doesn't get itself dirty. It cleans itself and is a quiet animal most of the time. A negative aspect of having such an animal is that the cat is not so easily trained as a dog. The owner has to be prepared for a few broken glasses, a shredded toilet paper roll, and maybe a some fur here and there. All in all the cat is the perfect animal for a single person, yet too many people in an apartment + a cat might be calling for trouble.
