Arrow, our rescue cat who thought he was a dog

We rescued Arrow as a young cat from a shelter. We had no idea what breed of cat he was. He was a pretty small kitten so we had no idea how big he was going to get. We don't think he was pure Maine Coon because his fur wasn't long enough, but size wise, he was! We had a black lab at that time and she ended up adopting Arrow and treating him as if he were her puppy. She would actually pick him up by the scruff of the neck and carry him outside with her to go potty. She constantly watched over him and even reprimanded him with a bark if he jumped on the counters. It was an amazing thing to watch.

Arrow ended up weighing 25 pounds and he was a wonderfully sweet cat. He got along with everyone... animal and human. He never used a litter box and would just go to the door and meow to go outside and then meow again when he was done. He really did think he was a dog :-).

He ended up having the equivalent of a cat heart attack when he was nine and passed away. The whole family was devastated.
