My Javanese cat

I acquired Java (original name I know!) shortly after he was born. I would not normally buy Javanese breeds or encourage pure breeding of them due to the genetic defects like deafness and arthritis, but a neighbour's Javanese had a litter and couldn't look after all the kittens.

My main concern was whether he would get on my domestic shorthair and Scottish Folds cat. I didn't know at the time that they are very affectionate and love human company, even more so than my Scots Folds cat. He gets on well with my other cats and shows and alertness and intelligence superior to any other cat I've seen. If he is not given sufficient attention throughout the day he will start to whine.

I've come to love Java but I wouldn't say I'm keen on his appearance. His very large ears and pointed face means there are certainly cuter breeds available but his temperament is lovely.
