My Japanese Bobtail is the most affectionate, vocal cat I've ever met. As in many descriptions of the breed, he does follow me around and can be pretty active. He can be quite stubborn about jumping on places he shouldn't, so if high activity/jumping bothers you, you might want to avoid this breed. That considered, he is also a lap cat and a pillow cat, usually by my side.

They are talkative! Mine meows, screams, whines, grunts, and purrs all day. As for temperament, he is very sweet and never bites or scratches. His long hair does require daily combing, and despite what I've read, it can get matted if not properly cared for. The long hair is beautiful though, and quite easy to deal with compared to a Persian or other long haired breed. I definitely recommend this breed. You will get a loving best friend!
