Cymrics are pretty awesome cats. I was never really a cat person until I met Beroe. He had beautiful hazel eyes. Cymrics have long hair so they definitely shed and you do need to do a bit a maintenance on them. Also, since they are long hairs, you're definitely going to be dealing with some hair balls.
Beroe was super calm about everything. He just enjoyed being with the family and cuddling up with us. We would go on walks with our dogs and Beroe would tag a long.
In Beroe's old age, he started going deaf. This caused him to be extremely vocal...and in a very loud way. It would honestly keep us up at times. However, it was totally worth it because Beroe was the sweetest cat I've ever met.
I don't know if this is true for most Cymrics, but Beroe was a very picky eater. So the food costs were a bit higher than average. Also, if you've had a cat, you know the work that goes into keeping that litter box clean. If you don't, you may think twice about getting a cat if you don't enjoy dealing with kitty liter. You definitely have to clean the litter box every day if you don't want your house smelling horribly.
I strongly recommend Cymrics. They are loyal, beautiful, and loving. The love to play and cuddle. Just remember to keep that hair maintained and that litter box clear.
