Cornish Rex cats are great for families!

I have had three Cornish Rex cats in the past and they are by far my favorite breed. Some call them ugly, but they can be absolutely beautiful, especially the ones from breeders. These cats are known for always keeping the playfulness they had as kittens. They really do never grow up.

For people with asthma or mild cat allergies, I would highly recommend this breed. I have asthma and environmental allergies and have absolutely no problems, because they lack the outer coat that causes you to react. Their short fur takes absolutely no effort to maintain. At most, they might need a wipe down with a washcloth once every couple of weeks.

This breed in general is very friendly with dogs, and it varies from one to another when it comes to other cats. The ones I have had in the past had no problem with other cats, but my current one tends to be very aggressive until he gets used to being around them.

One of the few cons of this breed is how much attention they like. If you're the type who isn't home much, I wouldn't recommend a Cornish Rex to you. They are very loving no matter what, but the more attention you can give them, the better.
