We rescued this cat from a shelter. For the first couple of days she wanted nothing to do with us and looked like she might attack at any moment. She was very mature and we had no idea where she had been previously, but I suspect she did not have a great experience with humans. However after a few days she warmed up and felt like a family member.

She was always very dignified, mostly liked to keep to herself. When we rescued a kitten who's mom died, she surprised us all by stepping in and adopting the the little guy. She turned out to be a great mom. I spent hours observing her teach him how to hunt and groom.

One of her best attributes was her hunting ability, a great asset to curb rodent population on the farm.
