Acquired: Worked with pet (didn’t own)

This little lady was my boyfriend's cat and let me tell you, she shed. Everywhere. Like, she picked a shipping box he never really put away as her scratching post and she never damaged anything else in the apartment but oh god her hair. It was literally everywhere. And she needed to be brushed out every other day otherwise her hair would just cover everything. Before I moved in he'd been brushing her once a week maybe, and she just, she needed it more! Granted it was not hard at all for her to get used to the idea that a human did infact want to sit and pet her for a solid hour and a half until hair just stopped coming off of her. We had a ritual. I would sit in front of the tv and watch some tv and wait for her to come demand pets as she is want to do when I'm sitting for any period of time and I would brush the ever living fuck out of her fur.
If you aren't ready to maintain a long hair cat's fur I strongly suggest you look for something with shorter fur. And if you're okay with a long cat's fur but aren't ready for the shedding, well, don't get a cat. (Or pick a cat whose fur will blend in with your clothes.)
