Khan the Bengal

Bengal cats are a joy to own but my first warning is that these guys but their nature are born hunters just as their tiger strips suggest. Our boy Khan would go out every day via cat flap and then not return for some six hours later. He'd never really want food (suggesting he'd eaten elsewhere) and he was always so tired after his day out that after coming home he would just jump on the sofa and sleep snuggled in to whatever or whoever was in 'coz spot'. We found that if for whatever reason Khan couldn't go out and complete his routine then he became very destructive and this sometimes meant being aggressive towards us. Khan was great most of the time but his claws were always razor sharp so I wouldn't digest keeping a Bengal around children because of their hunter like nature. I guess this breed of cat is perfect for someone out at work all day who would like a furry buddy to cuddle with at night. In my experience don't expect to have any home left if you shut a Bengal in all day and equally if dead animals bother you this one is best avoided.
