I moved to the Middle East (UAE, Abu Dhabi) and the first thing I did was rescue a baby kitten. It's crazy to me considering I have a Persian as well and they differ so much in personalities. Persian's are MUCH more domesticated whereas Mau's have such a primal wild personality. Mina is a wonderful cat and she's incredibly intelligent, she knows exactly what's going on. She constantly voices her opinions and will alert me when it's time for her dinner as well as time for me to get into bed so she can sleep with me. She's very active, constantly bouncing around, playing with the other cat (which took her a long time to get used to) and she's always up for some playful hand vs. cat wrestling. Her health has always been an issue, at first it wasn't but as she's aged, we've had issues with her teeth and her in general. Her health hasn't always been the best, she was very sick a year or two ago however she came out of it and is feeling MUCH better. She requires a lot of attention and a lot of love, just like any well deserving pet. Overall, I'm very lucky to have had her as a companion when I had first moved to the UAE and I'm still lucky to have her now.
