Kitter was a tortoiseshell kitten that I got from the litter of a neighbor's cat, who grew with me from my 10th birthday until nearly my 30th. She had shiny, multi-colored fur, and bright green eyes, and a slender, petite physique. Her temperament, for the most part, was playful but quiet and somewhat aloof. When she got agitated she'd have spells during which she'd rip through the house with a bushy tail, raised back and a crazy expression. Though she seemed to miss me when I left for school, she played it cool when I got back home. As she got older, however, she became more of a "lap-cat" and showed more affection. She did NOT get along well with other cats, hissing and growling at any other felines in the room, but she tolerated dogs as long as they stayed out of her way. As far as cats go, she was fairly low-maintenance, I fed her the same brand of cat food for years, bought her litter and toys (which she ignored) and took her to the vet once a year, that was it. She became a lot more vocal as she got older--to the point of keeping me awake at night--but that may have been due to her failing health, she eventually passed away due to kidney failure. She was the best, and I still miss her.
