Pierre was the cat that made me realize I'm a dog person.

My ex-boyfriend and I adopted Pierre as a kitten from a local shelter. He was a beautiful animal: medium-length, slate-grey fur with big golden eyes, and a well-balanced face. Unfortunately, he didn't have the inner beauty to match! Perhaps I'm being too harsh - Pierre wasn't a BAD cat, he just didn't like anyone. He'd play with for a little bit you if you tried to engage him with a feather toy, but would soon wander off to do his own thing. He wasn't cuddly or affectionate and wouldn't sit in your lap. He was just kind of AROUND - this creature that you needed to feed and scoop poop for, but that didn't really give a fig about you. I've met some awesome, engaging, loving cats, but Pierre was just kind of a dud. My ex was better with him, although Pierre was never very loving towards him, either. My ex took the cat when we separated, and to my knowledge Pierre's doing fine, but as aloof as ever.
