My American Shorthair Dash

Our cat essentially adopted US when she jumped into our car and climbed up into the gap where the brake pedal depresses. I had to disassemble the entire dashboard to get her out. We kept her, and named her Dash.

She is very friendly with people she has enough time to get used to, but extremely shy in the presence of strangers. We attribute this to the time she spent as a stray when she was just a kitten. We have taken several trips as a family, occasionally with her in the car. She behaves very well in any situation, including a packed car. We have also left her home for extended periods of time (1-2 weeks) with a pet sitter who comes every other day to keep her company. She behaves herself and is very self sufficient.

One of her favorite pastimes is looking through windows. She enjoys watching the outdoors, but would rather not participate. We have let her outside without a leash on several occasions. She will walk about 10 feet from the house and plop... just enjoying the sunlight. She has never attempted to run away.
