Our Cat Pumpkin

Pumpkin was found at my father's place of employment, I like to say he was rescued by my father. He was a orange and white American short-haired cat. We acquired him at the same time we had our family pet Brandy (a full poodle mix). They got along perfectly. My sister and I were very young ages 5 and 2. I recommend this cat however, to individuals over the age of 8 and up. Reason being is that cat's have a tendacy to hiss and scratch when in immediate danger. One must use extreme caution as little ones always tend to go directly to a cats tail to pull. The cat will defend itself without hesitation. In my experience cats also tend to be less playful and friendly than dogs. This, however, is not true for all, as my uncle has a loveable cat. Dogs can be more friendly and cuddly for the children. One plus is that outside cats are hunters and will keep any unwanted "creatures" away from your home. Please consult your vet as to what food is better, I remember Pumpkin having expensive vet bills due to some blockages that he experienced (due to wet food). Pumpkin has since passed on at the old age of 14 or 15 from kidney failure and old age.
