Our Cocoa was the best family cat - she was so gentle and good natured!

We received our American Shorthair Cocoa from a neighbor and we kept her as an outside cat. She lived over 12 years. She was good natured, even with strangers. She was aggressive with neighbor dogs that ventured into our yard but never with our cocker spaniel. We experienced low maintenance and care - just annual vaccines and monthly flea medicines. In general I would recommend this breed to everyone. If appearance is important to you, other breeds are visually more appealing.
