This is the cat I grew up with. My parents had her before having me. She lived to be 22 years old, which is remarkable for any cat breed.

When Ashley became elderly, it was harder for her to groom herself. So, we had to take many trips to the groomers to assist her. She was very attached to us, and would howl when she could not find us in the house. But, she was afraid of strangers and would hide. When the cat was about 16, she lost her hearing as well.

However, she was very sweet, gentle cat. In her younger years, she was playful and active. Ashley loved to snuggle and be pet. Her personality was very charming. I consider myself lucky to have had her growing up, and she started my love of all cats.
