Ivy is my current cat. She is a tortoiseshell American Shorthair. I rescued her from the shelter. The first thing that stuck out about Ivy was her coat. She is a very beautiful cat. The second thing I noticed about her was her independence. She is not very big on getting a lot of attention, but she can be quite cuddly and sweet. I've had many issues with finding the right food for her. We've settled on purina blue cat chow and wet food. If you want an independent cat with a mild temerament, go with an American Shorthair.
