I loved my cat but I was severely allergic and eventually had to give it away when my allergy got worse progressively.

Cats are easy to maintain because they clean themselves, but you should also give them baths here and there - even if they hate you for it. I got scratched here and there but my cats were extremely playful and couldn't help themselves.

You don't have to take them out for a walk to poo or pee because they do all that in the litter box. They also eat whatever they're given and never seemed to be on a hunger strike because they didn't like the food they were given.

I'd definitely recommend getting a cat if you're not allergic and don't have much time to take care of an animal (but you should still be there for your cat/pet as much as you can because if not, you shouldn't get a pet at all)
