The American shorthair is a classic breed of cat, easy to care for, and make wonderful companions.

This breed of cat is definitely a ball of energy! Though they do spend lots of time lounging around, when they are active they really are playful. Pieces of string and paper are fair game for tons of playing.

The shorthair is not too vocal of a breed, but will make short little meows, especially when they want to be fed or want your attention. Although they love to play they also love to cuddle, and will fall asleep with you for hours if they get nice and comfy. Mr Gibson has done very well with other cats as well as strangers and most dogs.

One thing I will say about this breed compared to others I have owned is that they particularly seem to have it out for household plants. Make sure to keep them out of reach or provide your cat with some cat grass they can munch on at will.
