Ruby--an absolute delight.

After only owning dogs for a while, I began to get the hankering for a cat again. Thus I ended up adopting Ruby, a black American Shorthair kitten.

She's an amazing cat. She's very snuggly and will sit on your lap for hours, purring up a storm.

As all cats do, Ruby definitely has an independent streak. She loves to be outside and spends more time stalking birds and squirrels in my backyard than in the house. She's an excellent hunter, much to my dismay--she's always bringing me 'gifts'.

American Shorthairs are extremely common cats, but I love them. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fluffy little forever pet who will bring them joy, devotion--and dead birds.
