Well, the title says it all. When getting a cat, you can never be sure what kind it's going to be - social, cuddly, aloof, cranky, playful, lazy, mischievous... If you're looking for predictability from your pet, don't get a cat, at least a domestic one.

I have had cats my whole life, always more than one, and none of them have been exactly alike. I've had cats that want hardly any attention, cats that yell for it, cats that act like dogs and as cat-like cats as can be. As a rule, as long as they get as much attention as they want, they are very easy pets - just let them do their own thing, in their own time.
