Best experience with a cat

I've had four cats in my lifetime, but Baby was the best by far. We found him as a stray, so we were never really sure of his breed. The vet agreed that he seemed to be an American shorthair, and he certainly looked like it. He was just a wonderful cat. He was quick to train, and didn't really get into much trouble. I can't remember him chewing through cords or anything like that. Although I do remember him walking on a cake I had left out to cool. He was also very affectionate and very loving. He could be playful, but he was happy enough just sitting on your lap, shoulders, or head. Whichever he found most comfortable. As he got older, he put on quite a bit of weight but that didn't stop him from running around in the middle of the night. Once we changed his food, he got a bit slimmer again. He was also never very vocal, unless he was talking to other cats, or if I was eating popcorn or drinking milk. Unfortunately, he eventually had to be put down due to congestive heart failure.
