My experience with an American shorthair kitten

I have had two shorthairs in the past- brothers. Now, I have gotten one of my own, a girl! She is currently 4 months old and is extremely playful. She is, however, very different than the two cats I owned before. They were very shy, antisocial, and not playful. With Morello, she is extremely friendly, interactive, and playful! This was a welcome surprise. She has bursts of energy that last about an hour before she is tuckered out and falls asleep. She loves mouse toys that she can carry around in her mouth as well as a basket she likes to climb into. She also loves plastic bags, hair elastics, and cell phones! She is extremely vocal and meows whenever I stop giving her attention. She also meows constantly when it is feeding time! When I first got Morello, she unfortunately had fleas. I used advantage + for kittens and they disappeared within two days. I also gave her a flea bath, which she hated. However, she is getting more used to being in water and never scratches me. She does, however, like to bite. This may be because she is teething. She is not aggressive when she bites, it is just playful. I am trying to train her out of this habit but she seems to be a slow learner. She was a fast learner when I used a spray bottle to keep her off the kitchen table and counter. She is very clean, never has accidents, and grooms herself daily. She requires a nail clipping about once a month, which I think is best to do while they’re tired and sit still! American shorthairs are the ideal cat because of their personalities and manageable coats.
