Calico was a wonderful cat. I got her as a kitten and it was quickly apparent that she was a one-owner cat, and that owner was me. She followed me everywhere when I was at home. She was pretty smart and very agile. If she wanted in the house and no one answered the front door when she scratched at it, she would climb the tree next to my room, climb onto the roof of the back porch that was under my window and meow. I'd open my window and she would leap from the roof to the window sill. She could pick out the person in the room who hated cats, and that's the person she would pay attention to. She had the most personality of any cat I've ever had and if I ever get another cat, it will be another calico. Keep in mind that the vast majority of calico cats are female because a cat's coloration is an X chromosome trait. If you find a male calico, he is a rare find, but there's also a good chance he's also sterile.
