My husband and I had planned a trip to France for a month, and I didn't want to leave my other cat alone for that long, so a few months before we left, we decided to get a friend for her. I found this one at a shelter- I went specifically looking for a black shorthair, as I'd hear they have the hardest time getting adopted. I found her, and fell in love with her huge pumpkin colored eyes, and deep black coat. It took time, but they became close, and she is a full member of the family. She is very attached to my husband, and is one of the sweetest and most friendly cats I've ever known, however she is VERY talkative and needy- to the point that it gets quite annoying at times. She will scratch in the cat box in the middle of the night over and over again until it wakes my husband up- she is that desperate for attention. I don't regret getting her, but she definitely is a character.
