Little Tortie a Great Friend

I originally got Cabernet, a black tortie, from the pound with her sister Sketchy, a beautiful calico. They loved each other very much, playing and hanging out together constantly. Sadly, one day, Sketchy escaped outside and did not return. Cabernet and I were heartbroken.

To assuage her sadness Cabernet became closer to me. She is happiest when she stretches out on top of me, purring loudly and kneading my chest.

She is also a quirky little kitty. She loves to fetch shiny things. She has a favorite ring and will drop it in front of me when she wants to play. I will throw it and she will race to go find it and then bring it back and drop it in front of me again ... and again and again. She is also very fond of chasing the red laser light.

She does not, however, like the other cats in the house and they don't like her. If she walks by they will generally hiss at her, but she does not give them the satisfaction of a reaction. She makes it clear she doesn't care for them by ignoring them and then attempts to dis them even more by nudging out one of the other cats and taking her preferred position on top my chest.

I recommend torties as pets.
