Jungle the Cat

...was a near-perfect companion for many long years. Seemingly fairly happy to be a house cat, Jungle came into my life with her twin sister Pepper when she was a kitten, and was always happy to play with me, happy to sit in my lap, or happy to leave me alone if I wasn't in the mood. Talkative, eager to purr, beautiful, friendly, and easygoing, she occasionally fought with her sister or the family dog, and she would turn into quite the hunter on those rare occasions a mouse made the mistake of straying into our house—making me wonder how she would treat me if I were suddenly shrunk to a mouse's size—it's difficult to find something to complain about with Jungle. She was, oddly enough, totally uninterested in human food and content to eat the same bland cat food every day for almost two decades. She liked watching birds, very rarely watched TV, and was a very zen-like character, staring into space for hours at a time with her huge beautiful eyes, so that my parents nicknamed her "Owl".
