Our family had Onyx for 13 years. He was an easy going cat. We got him when he was about a year old. He was declawed in his front paws. He was easy to take care of. He needed to be brushed often. However, he was a picky cat. He had to have his water iced or he would not drink it. If food was in his water, he would not eat it. He did like to hop on counters and eat lettuce that was sitting our. He also liked to lick oranges if they were left out. He was an easy-going cat and preferred to snuggle. He would also do knead whatever surface to get comfortable. He was easy going. He worked well with other pets and did not mind so much. When we introduced cats to him, other cats would attack him, but he would not. He got along well with dogs. He did exceptionally well with a toy poodle and lived with one for the last few years of his life. He only lived to be about 13 years. This was due to him getting sick and losing a ton of weight. Sadly, the kitten food we used to help him regain weight made him sicker.
