The Joy of Dottie

I started dating my girlfriend several years ago, and into my life she brought Dottie, a domestic shorthair cat. Dottie is more complex than many people. She's a diva, a wrestler, a lover, a mother, an intimidator, and ultimately the Boss of our house. Dottie is also the most loving animal. She adores us. She's constantly sitting next to us when we watch tv, she disciplines the other three cats (two of which are her sons), and Dottie loves to play with her wrestling coach owner.

There's a saying that cats don't have masters, they have staff. Dottie proves this adage. Every morning she jumps on the bed and stares at us until we arise and deliver food into the bowl. If she's upset with us, we know. Her judgmental gaze withers the most stubborn of people. This is the price you pay for a cat that will run to the door to greet you, a cat that will wake out of a dead sleep and run to you because she thought of you.

The hardest part of Dottie is the shedding and how she sometimes doesn't like certain visitors to our house. Have a good vacuum and the zealousness to occupy your cat if you have similar issues. Dottie is a cap and saddle style black and white cat, and she makes every day that much more enjoyable.
