Pepper is the cat that I got as a child who lived into my mid-twenties. He was a solid black Shorthair mixed with Siamese. A highly intelligent and entertaining cat. He was a rare commodity. He preferred to drink from Dixie Cups in the bathroom. He loved running water in the sink. He even played the piano. When he was about 6 years old he had a major blockage in his urinary tract. My parents had him sent to Michigan State University Vet Center for an experimental surgery to have a prosthetic urinary tract put in. He recovered well and lived another 8 years. An amazing cat.
