Not a cat person

Perhaps I am not a cat person, or perhaps I was set up with the wrong cat early on in life - but owning Oreo was not a pleasant walk in the park. Oreo was not interested in interacting with humans at all, and I aggravated this by trying to pet him or cuddle him early on in our relationship. This just made him resent me more! Oreo would hide out underneath my bed and wait for me to come in my room so he could grab my legs and shred them to pieces. He would growl if you came close to him, and try to swat at you if you were standing even a little bit too close. He handled having our dog in the house well, but even she fell victim to a sneak attack every now and then. I am not sure if it was because I tried to coddle Oreo early on, or perhaps I am just not a cat person, but my experience with cats so far in life have not been the most positive!
