My little 3-year-old Orange Tabby shorthair, Garth, was warmly welcomed to our small apartment last year. I was drawn to him at the shelter because of his funny and curious personality. He is a dog among cats. Always playing, chasing something, and gnawing at inanimate objects. He will get a sudden burst of energy and launch into a sprint across the room for no apparent reason. He definitely has his independent streak, but will curl up next to me after a long hard day and purr for a good straight hour. As a shelter kitty, I’m not privy to his early home training. Clearly, someone never taught him to good manners because he loves to bite people's hands - albeit playfully. Not the pierce-through-the skin sort of thing, but enough to scratch you up. He finds this amusing. My curious kitty also loves to swat at virtual fish on iPad cat games and launch at moving objects on TV. In short, he has been a furball of entertainment! He is pretty healthy overall, though he likes to put up a fight when he go to trim his claws or comb him.
