I love my kitty, don't get me wrong - he's got personality for MILES and anyone that comes in gets lots of affection. His coat is soft and luxurious, and he loves to curl up with me in the blankets at night, going outside throughout the day.
The negatives, though, I've noticed - his nails are exceptionally fast-growing and he likes to keep them unsheathed, so I have to get them trimmed. He is also VERY vocal to the point of waking me up often in the morning with his conversation.
Everyone has negatives. I would probably not get the same type of cat again, but only because this is my first cat and I would like to try different breeds.
I have no regrets on getting him as a "starter kitty," and he is an amazing friend.
