The first, and only cat I have had in my life was a black, american short hair, named Breakfast. I got her when she was two months old, and had her until she was about 3. She was, and I assume, still is a fun loving, very trustworthy cat that always showed her belly for belly rubs and scratches. She, like most of the other cats I have encountered, loved boxes, and and climbing on kitchen counters, and messing around with scratching posts. Very cute cat, easy to please, and very easy to keep happy. She likes baths, always purred whenever I put her in one, and always used the liter box. She was physically and vocally expressive, and would always meow when I would leave the house, until I came back. Unfortunately she didn't get along very well with dogs, however i like to think if I would have introduced her to my other dog at a younger age, they would have gotten along just fine! But I do recommend this breed of cat to anyone, especially black cats, since they are the least likely to be adopted due to superstitious beliefs, and things of that nature.
