My American Shorthair, Bennie

About five years ago my family and I adopted our third cat (our second American shorthair), Bennie. Bennie is entirely different from our other American shorthair, Jennie, in almost every way. Bennie is much larger than Jennie, outweighing her by about 10 pounds, and has a completely different personality. Bennie is extremely social and affectionate with humans, including strangers, but he can be very aggressive and bullies our other cats to assert his dominance. And while he can be very sweet, he is very much like a toddler in that he can be very loud, messy, and demanding, and he requires nearly constant attention when he is awake.
Overall, I feel that Bennie’s positive attributes outweigh the negatives, and because I also know what a wide variety of personality types American Shorthair Cats can possess I would highly recommend this breed.
