My American shorthair, Freddie, is quite the cat. I rescued him from Stray Cat's Blues when he was a kitten. He had been found in a box on the side of the road, and a kindly man took him and his sisters in. I am grateful for that man every day, because as I raised that kitten I raised a friend. Freddie got me through many difficult choices and events in my life, and he made me love cats. I always say that dogs are great because they love everyone unconditionally, but that special cat will love only you.

Freddie is a low maintenance cat. He goes in his litter box, chases mice and flies, and swats at the dogs every once in awhile. He got along very well with the older dog that I had and loved to bat at the puppy. He never hurt any of the dogs, but it scared the puppy every time. It was actually really funny as mean as that sounds.
