An Enigma

I've had many American Shorthairs over the years, and have adequate experience with both training and breeding. In general, these cats tend to be very low maintenance and highly loving. The only downside that I've found to owning this breed is the amount of trouble they can get themselves into. Keiko, as an example, has quite the taste for cardboard, and will chew holes in anything vaguely resembling it. He's as playful as they come, and just as loving, but does get a little rowdy at times. I would recommend this breed to any families with children, as these cats make great playmates and are often very gentle. Of course, I have come across a few exceptions, but they are few and far between.
