I remember going to the Humane Society with a list of kitties I wanted to meet. Toward the end of my visit, I asked the woman, "Where is Sachi?," and there she was - sitting on the counter, as social as ever. It was a match made in heaven. I was informed that Sachi was brought straight to the shelter as a kitten and had never lived in a home. I have been thrilled to give her first and only home. We have had our ups and downs, but none without reason. Any time the vet has accused her of behavioral issues, there has always been an underlying cause. Of course your cat is going to meow incessantly if they're experiencing some distress. It's your job as their own to figure it out. Change doesn't have to be a bad thing. Your cat will let you know if something just isn't working out for them. My vet recommended two litter boxes because my cat is larger and older. All in all, though she isn't very cuddly and snuggly and likes her space, she does keep my warm in bed, and she does wake me to feed every morning like clockwork.
