Tram was rescued from people giving away kittens in front of grocery store in Colordo. Little did we know that that little ball of orange-tabby fur would become one of the greatest pride and joys of our home. He lived 17 years 2 months...and in that time earned the moniker "the golden cat". He was confirmed to be part mountain-wild cat; combination of domestic short hair and bobcat mix. In his years of life he took down a bat, full grown male bluejay, a full sized rabbit, and in one particular mouse-laden spring, cleaned house single-handedly by felling over 30 mice in one night. He also was the most intelligent animal we've ever owned. Once my mother took our very small children for a walk around the block while visiting. He followed her around the entire block, screaming at her...fearing that a stranger was taking his kids. He also awoke us one night when for an unknown reason our front door was open. The stories are countless and the void he has left is boundless.
