A Stray Cat Turned Domestic Queen

French Fry was found by my mother, who spotted her at a local grade school. At the time, kids were kicking her and ignoring the mews of the then-tiny black and white kitten. My mom took her home immediately, where she stayed largely distant from the family until I moved back in for a brief time. She grew very attached to me and my boyfriend, so when we moved in together we took French Fry with us! After three years of living with us (and our other cat), French Fry has gone from quiet loner to beloved head of the house. It took a lot of patience, particularly given her harsh beginnings, but with love and time she has become the sweetest little cat. She is fiercely loyal, to the point of panicking when we had to leave her at my mother's house for even a few hours. As soon as we showed up, she calmed down. It is hard to break bad habits with her, such as scratching on everything. But it's a small hassle compared to the happiness she brings us every day. Strays can be a mixed bag, but if you do your best to meet them where they are and provide a safe, loving home you can see amazing strides and gain a member of the family!
