My coworker came to work one day and asked if we wanted a cat. Panther showed up at her door in the middle of winter. Cold, wanting a place to stay warm. She advertised but no one claimed him. That's how he came into my life.

He's a vocal cat and likes to talk. His fur is very shiny and he is extremely healthy. He is also very active and loves to play outside. He is bigger than a normal sized cat, and at 16 pounds he does sound a bit heavy. The Vet assured me that it is his build - he has long legs and a long, muscular body so he is at a healthy weight for his size.

When he isn't playing or wandering around outside, he loves to snuggle. He loves being around people and hates closed doors. He always wants to be where the action is. Panther is highly social which makes him an excellent family pet. I would get another black-colored American Shorthair cat again.
