I'm not a cat person by any means but we had them all the time while I was growing up and my mom still has a few so I've gotten used to having them around and though I don't adore all cats, this is one breed I don't really mind. They're friendly, they don't sit there and meow in your face, they will warm your lap without pushing your book of it, and they're pretty hardy. They make good companions for people that want a pet but maybe aren't able to walk a dog or handle the size of one which is nice. I've seen them do wonders for people at nursing homes and schools where having an animal come seek attention from you is the highlight to someone's day.
