Wonderful Snuggly Cat

II have had the blessing of a sweet loving american shorthair in my life for almost 12 years. I found her 11 years ago hanging out hungry outside my home and took in the scared kitty. The rest we must say is history. If I were to make my basis on how great american shorthairs are, I would say that it is the best type of cat to own.
The only downfall to owning an american shorthair is the cat dander that can be a little overwhelming to those with cat allergies. This can be combated with regular baths. She is good about bathing herself but it still seems to be an issue.
The upsides to owning an american shorthair. She is incredibly loving and loyal. If I leave the house for work for a few hours when I get home she just wants to snuggle and cuddle. I love this because she falls asleep in my arms every night. She is playful and not mean. She makes a perfect children's cat because she knows when to retract her claws and be playful.
Overall I would say if you want a good playful, loving and loyal cat you have come to the right place.
