American Shorthair Review

By

United States

Posted Mar 24, 2014

The American Shorthair is a common breed of cat, found all across the country. They can come in a wide variety of coat patterns. American Shorthairs are hardy animals with good health. Although the individual cat's personality will understandably vary, most can be expected to be fairly independent (deciding when and where THEY want affection and attention), intelligent, and easy to care for. They are usually not highly vocal, and are happy spending their time relaxing in the sun or curled up asleep on your lap. Many American Shorthairs shed fairly significantly despite their short coats, so they are not meant for the spotless house or those allergic to pet dander. Some American Shorthairs are very playful and curious, while others would prefer to simply eat, sleep, and laze around. The American Shorthair is a wonderful cat for those without much experience, though, and I have loved every one I have owned.
