Bastet, aka Kitten

We adopted Bastet at 4 weeks old. I was working at PetCo when a customer brought in a beautiful tuxedo kitten. She wanted to keep her, but had 2 big dogs that didn't like cats. My manager told me to send her to a shelter (a black cat less than a month before Halloween, no thank you), so I called my brother back to come get the kitten. We had no intention of keeping her more than a couple months (til Halloween was over). We ended up keeping her despite our best intentions.

She was one of the most active cats we have ever owned. She'd run around, climb into our ferret cage, play with the ferrets, cats, and dogs. She'd climb and walk all over our backs and shoulders. She even jumped on my shoulders from the shower rod once.

She was potty trained perfectly. The only downside she really had was that she'd attack our feet through the sheets (not a big downside - just annoying when you're trying to sleep!).

She passed away when 2, due to our house fire.
